Community Based Organization (CBO) plays an important role in natural resources management. They ensure that communities participate in the sustainable exploitation of their natural resources as well as benefit from external support to improve livelihood of the local population.
In the Bakossi National Park area, FORUDEF has been working with legally recognized groups known as Community Based Organizations (CBOs). These CBOs are Cluster of villages, Cooperatives and Community Forest. Over the years, these CBOs have received support from WWF-Leading the Change project through FORUDEF.
In a workshop that ran from the 11th to 15th of May 2022, FORUDEF trained 2 CBOs (South West and North West clusters) on group dynamics and advocacy.
At the end of the three days intensive workshop, Participants left with a knowledge on leadership, effective communication, conflict management, financial management and advocacy. The aim is for these CBOs to use the knowledge gained to properly manage their organization and activities; which are geared towards the sustainable management of natural resources.
